My Two Little Boys

Other than the terrible shadow created by the flash (yes I am blaming the flash and not the photographer), I really like this photo of my boys.

Merry Christmas Dave, finally.

Dave finally got his Christmas present a few days ago. All three of my boys (that includes Dave) love it. Well, Dave and Jacob love it. Evan could not care any less about the telescope. He's a big fan of Jacob.

We used the telescope to check out the moon as soon as it got dark. We didn't use a filter. It was like shining a flashlight right into our eyes. Later that evening, Dave was looking at the light filters and shows me the darkest one and says "This is the moon filter." Well no wonder I have lost vision in my left eye.

The neighbor came over that night and he, Dave and Jacob played with the telescope for a while until it just got too cold. Evan and I stayed inside most of the time and stayed warm. I was blind in one eye, but warm!

Ugh.

Okay, why is this photo uploading sideways? It's saved on my computer correctly. Any ideas?

Anyhow, if you turn your computer screen on it's side you will see what I think is my best hawk photo yet.

I pulled off the side of the road because I saw a bald eagle flying along, but by the time I got off the road and grabbed the camera the eagle was long gone. It was a pleasant surprise to see this hawk sitting not too far away.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOTHER!

On the 26th we celebrated my Mom's 70th birthday (she turned 70 on Nov 8th). It was family and a few friends.

On the door in the kitchen we posted stars for each of her four children, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The top right star (blue) is hers with all of her names; Pat, Grandma, Mother, Mommy, and Mama.

My Dad is on the top left (green) with all of his names; Mike, Grandpa, and Daddy.

The star Christmas ornaments on the table were our party favors. We plan to do Christmas party favors each year from now on.

The two houses made for hours of entertainment for Jacob. The house on the left had a small train that would go around the track and Jacob would sit and watch it go.

This is my Mom in front of her birthday cake. She is standing in her almost-finished kitchen. Happy Birthday Mother!

This fall my parents started a remodeling project in which they are completely redoing the kitchen and bathrooms. I can't wait to see when it is finished.

Arizona for the Holidays

We attended a wedding for Dave's youngest brother Tim and his bride Rosa. They were married at the Snowflake Temple. Congratulations to Tim and Rosa.

After the wedding I dropped Dave at the airport in Phoenix and drove to Tucson. Dave had to go back to work for a couple of days and then I picked him up at the Phoenix airport on Christmas Eve.

Our drive through Southern Colorado

On our way to Arizona for Christmas we took an extra day and took back roads through Colorado. We saw some very beautiful sights.

This herd of big horn sheep was in the middle of the road drinking the melted snow. We stopped to take pictures because there were no cars behind us. A few cars came from the other direction and had to honk multiple times before the sheep would move out of the way. After the car would pass they would return to the middle of the road.

We finally made it over the pass on a snow covered back road and found the highway. The sights were beautiful and we plan to go this way again when we don't have to make it to Arizona.

It was getting dark as we headed from Alamosa to Wolf Creek Pass. We had just enough light to see how beautiful it was but unfortunately did not get any pictures. We spent the night in Farmington, New Mexico and then drove the rest of the way to Pinedale.
