Jacob's first day of preschool.
At the amusement park
"Jacob, why is your hand purple?"
Purple Sharpie + Jacob hiding behind a chair =
Purple hands and
purple carpet.

Jacob likes to draw circles. He filled one circle in with color.
I used up my magic erasers and my visiting teacher brought me her magic erasers which I used up as well. The stain is mostly gone and because it is behind the recliner I think it is good enough.

Heat Therapy Bags
This evening after the boys went to bed I made two heat therapy bags. I made the bags out of muslin and filled them with flaxseed. Flaxseed is not stinky like many other items that are commonly used to make therapy bags. In 30 minutes I made two bags and started on the first washable cover. Right now I am testing out the first bag on my neck and it is great! About a minute in the microwave and the bag acts like heating pad lasting 1-2 hours. These first two bags are for my sister, Sharon, and for my Mom, but I already have a request from Dave and I want one too. I will post photos sometime later.

Lots of new stuff
I just discovered the beauty of Picasa. I can make collages and publish them to my blog from the program on my computer. It is so easy! The new stuff is not in chronological order but oh well.

What we've been up to in 2009, Part 3
Evan improved is climbing skills.

Jacob played and played and played with trains.
We put his track on the table so he could play without extra hands disassembling the track.

Haircuts for all (except me).
This was Evan's first haircut. In this picture Jacob is wearing his Quarter-Midget t-shirt from Cousin Keith.

We talked on the phone to my Mom.

We had a bookshelf built in the loft.
It was built by Dave Margetts who is the same person who did our backyard.

What we've been up to in 2009, Part 2
We went for a drive.
We found a "primitive" road that led out of Monument.
The dirt road took us to a nicer dirt road that we had been on before. The road went from Woodland Park to a paved road near Sedalia.

We could see Pikes Peak through the trees.

We drove toward Denver and after 20 miles came to a locked Forest Service gate. How very frustrating. Just before the gate there was a jeep trail so we decided to take that. It was very steep and icy in many places. Luckily we were in Dave's truck because we needed the higher clearance.

We finally came out at Rainbow Falls not too far from Woodland Park and drove home.

What we've been up to in 2009, Part 1
It’s been a while since I have posted. Here’s a little of what we have been up to lately…
We enjoyed unseasonably warm Colorado weather.
We went train hunting,
and hawk hunting.
While we were train and hawk hunting we saw a golden eagle and a bald eagle.
We read many books.
We did have a little snow, but it sure didn't stick around very long.
